Meet Hyejin Abarcar

Hi! I’m Hyejin Abarcar, the new PTA Reflections Chair this year. I oversee all aspects of the Reflections program, from collecting student submissions and coordinating with judges to submitting top entries to the county-level contest. Thank you all for supporting this valuable opportunity that encourages students to reflect, express themselves, and grow!

Originally from Seoul, Korea, I’ve lived in Massachusetts, Illinois, and Michigan before finally calling Virginia home. My husband and I are both economists – I work in antitrust and Paolo evaluates programs for Fairfax County Public Schools. Our days are full with work and caring for our two kids, Theo (3rd grade) and Hana (Pre-K), but we love turning their extracurricular activities into family time, whether it’s playing tennis or dancing at a toddler music class.

I cherish ATS for its diverse and energetic community, where staff and parents work together to foster strong academics and character building. I'm excited for the chance to give back to our school and look forward to receiving all the Reflections submissions by this Wednesday.
