Meet Jen Julio

My name is Jen Julio, and I am the proud mom of two ATS Stars - Jase, who is in 3rd grade, and Joy, who is in 1st grade. My husband, Jon, and I both work full-time outside the home, which keeps us quite busy. When I'm not working or shuttling the kids to their various activities, I enjoy staying active on Tonal (@GadgetGirlJen).
This is my second year on the PTA, where I serve as the Website Chair under the Communications VP. In this role, I update the ATS PTA website each week with content from the ATS PTA All Star Newsletter, update the ATS PTA calendar, create sales forms, and upload data from ParentVue into the ATS PTA Online Directory. Although I have a background in software development, the ATS PTA platform uses a simple What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) editor that makes it approachable even for non-developers.
I have set a few goals for the ATS PTA website this year. These include digitalizing the reimbursement process, implementing a new point of sale (POS) system, and conducting a trial of the Communities feature with the Room Parent Liaison. I hope by stating these goals in the ATS PTA All Star Newsletter that I can look back on the year and actualize these goals!
I became acquainted with ATS through my neighbors' children, who are alumni from the classes of 2025 and 2027. Their dedication to academics, particularly through daily homework, caught my attention. At that time, I wasn't yet a parent, but I noticed how homework brought their family together and created opportunities for broader discussions. Now as a parent, I appreciate the teacher-led guidance that homework provides to reinforce the learning that takes place at school. It has allowed us to explore topics more deeply, break down challenging problems, and challenge stereotypes through our homework discussions.
