Meet Melissa Thierry

Hello from Melissa Thierry, mom to Julia (5th grade) and Joseph (4th grade). As Co-Chair of the Fall Fest, I help plan and execute one of the PTA’s first major community-building fundraisers of the school year. My role involves coordinating event logistics, engaging volunteers, and ensuring a fun, welcoming experience for all families. This year the Fall Festival planning committee introduced a focus on data collection to help the PTA make more informed decisions for future Fall Festivals.

I love ATS for its future-focused leadership and the dedication of its hardworking, talented staff and faculty. I especially appreciate the school’s strong sense of community, the long-standing tradition of the ABCs of Character, and its unwavering commitment to inclusive education that supports and celebrates every student.

A proud Texan turned Arlington local, I have called this community home for 15 years. By day, I serve as Director of University Life Regional Campuses at George Mason University; by night (and weekends!), I sing in choirs, champion Down syndrome awareness, and zip around on my scooter with the Vespa Club of DC.
