Meet Saria Izzeldin

Hi everyone! My name is Saria Izzeldin, mom to Serene (3rd grade) and Sharif (1st grade), and I’m currently serving as the ATS International Night Chair.

I grew up locally in Falls Church, Virginia, in a Sudanese household, and met my husband, Saad, while we were both studying in DC. I’m an Internal Medicine physician and during the day I lead a team of healthcare providers at Kaiser Permanente. In the evenings, you’ll usually find my family and I on a basketball court or out on a field with the kids. Whenever we can, we love to travel together experiencing different parts of the world.

What I love most about ATS is the constant dedication of the teachers and staff, who pour so much into creating a supportive and inclusive environment for our students. And the students themselves who bring such energy, curiosity, and warmth to school each day.

In my PTA role, I have the joy of helping bring ATS International Night to life. This involves recruiting and orienting country ambassadors and performers for a fun (and delicious) evening! This night cannot happen without all the amazing families that make up ATS. Thank you for entrusting me with this wonderful tradition, and I’m looking forward to another great International Night with all of you soon!
